Current density mapping on a 1.2 m rack: how do you avoid high-current burn?

We plate long extruded parts on a 1.2 m rack and see burning at the top contacts while the bottom of the part is under-plated.

We have adjusted total current, but the distribution is still uneven. Before we change the rectifier or busbar, I would like to compare notes on:

  • Current density targets at the high and low points
  • Contact spacing and rack bar cross-section
  • Use of auxiliary anodes or shields
  • How you measure distribution in production

Please include the part geometry and tank dimensions if you can.
