Rack coating and stop-off for chrome plating: what lasts longest?

We are evaluating rack coatings for a hard chrome line. The current coating chips at the contact tips and the exposed copper starts plating, which changes current distribution.

What has worked for you?

  • PVC vs. plastisol vs. powder coating
  • Tip design that keeps coating away from the contact face
  • Repair method between full re-coats
  • Strip and re-coat interval

We are looking for a practical maintenance standard, not a catalogue claim.
