Improving metal hydroxide settling in a small WWTP

Our small wastewater plant struggles with slow settling of metal hydroxide floc, especially after high-load days.

We use pH adjustment, coagulant and flocculant, but the clarifier is the bottleneck. What has worked for you?

  • pH setpoint for mixed metals
  • Coagulant/flocculant selection and dosing
  • Mixing energy and flocculation time
  • Sludge recirculation or ballasted settling

Please share the plant capacity and inlet metals if possible.
